Brought for dinner at my parents in laws'. The wine was pale lemon in colour and offered citrus, lemon, grass and hey as well as a tropical fruit aspect on the nose and palate, with smooth acidity and average to good length. Well-balanced and pleasant. Easy to like. Good. 87+

The grass is greener for the 2015 Alpha Estate Sauvignon Blanc. A gorgeous pale-gold color, this Macedonian beauty presents an incredibly green-grassy nose, built on rich and luscious melon palette. It is quintessential Sauvignon Blanc with a burst of brightness that centers the wine in Greece. A wonderful pour and great introduction to what a new generation of Greek winemakers are doing with their unique terrior.

From magnum. A clean sort of entry level but good wine. Very grassy, lightest touch of oak, light touch of a waxy texture, light citrus and mineral edge. Good wine albeit lacks depth and a sense of place and is as Greek as Telly Savallas. A good 88 does not over promise or pretend and we liked that about it.

Tasting, brief note. Grass and tart lemon aromas, then slightly riper, fleshier lemon flavors. Pleasant enough summer afternoon wine.
