Golden hued, large scaled and viscous. Unlike previous bottles, this seemed more balanced and less clunky. It was not an elegant wine, exactly, but it was full of flavor and smooth on the palate. Very classic Grüner Veltliner in this style. I wonder if this could make old bones. My instinct says no, but GV can be surprising.

Better than the 2013 I had recently. That said, I think this might require a few more years - It's a bit linear and seems like it needs a jump start. Going to put half of the bottle in the fridge for tomorrow or the day after; will update if improvement.

Really lovely bottle that I'm sure will continue to improve. So much more open and showy than the Vinothekfüllung from a few weeks back. Lots of ripe fruits and that vegetal, lentil grüner veltliner nose. Good acid structure, and a bite that seemed almost a little tannic, keeps everything in shape. Rich and mouth coating. It may be that these wines can age for decades, but this can be open now or anytime and be thoroughly enjoyed.

too young, full flavor - very strong juicy fruit. It gains complexity with air and time - we enjoyed our visit to Knoll and their wines are excellent and age-worthy. Recommend the steinfeders and federspiels for more immediate consumption. The Smaragds need time.
