  • Popped and poured. Solid, full yellow. Has exactly the nose you look for in a top German Riesling: petrol, lanolin, apples, tropical fruit; all it lacks is a wisp of smoke. But this just exudes freshness and life. Kicks ass in the mouth, too. Both light on its feet yet mouth filling with rich, luxuriant fruit, it seems to linger forever on the finish. This is not even close to declining, heck, it may not even have peaked yet. Feels like it could last forever. 5-14-18-9: 96/100.

  • I'm not sure this has massive evolved from my last note, but the intensity and expansiveness of the palate is certainly more evident. The lime cordial has taken on some tropicality - think key lime - and the mineral bass feels stonier. Extremely long finish with floral and tea notes, this one will be with us a very long time.

  • Peach and something sweet and plasticky on the nose. On the palate, white apple, grapefruit citrus, peach, and notes of lime and lemon on the medium to long finish, with noticeable sweetness balanced by strong acidity. This was an excellent value at a little over $40.

  • Floral with bruised apple notes. A touch muted. Not getting the energy I would hope from this wine in this vintage. Good but had higher expectations.

  • The perfumed nose burst from the glass with sweet orchard fruits and fragrant florality, making this hard to take away from your nose. The palate was rich with ripe apples and tropical mango that finished with a spicy note and nice grip.
The sweetness seemed to be a bit elevated at this particular moment, but overall a delicious wine that will evolve into something quite wonderful.
