The key to this bottle was we opened it the night before to give it some air, then recorked. This is an excellent food wine. Very smooth for a LI wine, with just a touch of vegetal characteristics and a little cherry cola.

Mid ruby color. Nice, restrained, but still round in the mouth, with leather and wood, cherry on top. A little prune in background, but nothing like many Long Island merlots. Very good.

As always, impressed by what Shinn is producing. Very smooth wine. Good dark fruit, and a very decent finish.

Not typical of Long Island Merlots. A bit more vegetal than I like. Rather herbaceous.
