Lovely red color , Typical Bordeaux. Merlot in nose and taste. I say to my self : Do not only thing of Burgundy ! This stuff with the right meal , is a very nice experience. A great mix of Classic Pomerol with modern methods. And why wait…and though not a ‘great’ house , it is really a great surprice.

Riesling Study Night #2 (1/21/23): Opened in the bottle for 4 hours before trying due to CT notes. Earthy nose, some dark fruit. Deep dark fruit, black plums, black cherry, some dark chocolate, lacquered cherries. Overall a pleasant right bank! Seems like it was in a decent spot after 4 hours. Major potential for further ageing. 90 today, with big upside. Compared with the Grand Pontet, this was not showing as well, but the Clos Rene was showing a deeper extraction of fruit.

Definitely need plenty of time in the decanter. Initial PnP is green & tight. Poured half into a decanter and left half in the bottle for next day. Took about 4 hours for the wine to really shine. Beautiful ruby red and bright hues at its edges. Nose: brimming with red plum, stewed cherry, plum followed with wet leather and earthy notes. Palate: aromatic red fruit, some orange peel, & very ripe berries. Light to medium body with medium acidity. Juicy tannins but still a tad grippy (but in a good way)

This definitely needs a decant. PnP this seemed quite green, but with an hour of air opened up nicely, ripe dark fruit, tobacco leaf finish. I’d hold or decant long YFS
