Relatively unevolved, though the fruit and tannins are so ripe, it is easy to enjoy its waves of earthy black and red cherries, truffle, cocoa, licorice and black coffee. Rich, lush and round, this will probably begin to show its true essence by 2025 or so.

A very solid Pomerol, and wonderfully shows the 2015 vintage, after 3 hours of decanting this was ready to roll. The wine is overseen by the Moeuix family, and this can be seen through the wine. The nose has explosive aromas of dark plums, cherries, green pepper, cracked black pepper, and allspice. The palate is rich, lush, with dark spicy fruit, a savory mid-palate, silky tannins with a spicy and slightly hot finish. The Al% on this says 14.5%, but I feel it is over 15%, this will probably integrate over the next 10 years, but something to be aware of if opening this early.

I didn’t like this much on opening it, and only drank one glass. Today the wine has really transformed and I’m thrilled to have most of the bottle left!
With adequate time to breath, the wine is a dark crimson, very pure in color, and has a nose dominated by cassis and lavender, vanilla, wax. Vinous (Antonio Galloni) review talks about red licorice and cherry jam.... I see that, but not the tobacco and smoke also mentioned on that review. Sweet yet tart on the palate, mid-weight, polished tannins will need several years to relax, long finish inflected by minerals. 94+ For now, could definitely merit a substantially higher score by age 15.

This has serious old-school structure to the point of putting a spooky "GO AWAY KIDS" sign on the gate. Neal Martin's notes call the tannins "silky" and Suckling's call them "regal." It's difficult to see how they were tasting the same wine as this. The tannins here are like an itchy wool blanket and give the wine a grey, overcast feel that it takes hours for the berry fruit to poke through, and even then it's still very coarse and drying. The fruit is packed with a mineral element that combines a gravelly sensation with subtler pencil lead or metal shavings, which contributes to the austerity though also making for some interesting material that could make this an impressive wine when it comes around - but who knows when that will be? These feel like 30-year tannins. It did show sweeter and more vividly ripe red fruit in the leftovers the next day.

Belle souplesse et équilibre.
Sur les fraises compotés et le
chocolat.
Les tannins sont fins et la finale
pas très longue est sans accroc.
