Perfumed, youthful nose with cassis, mint and graphite together with sweet, warm spices. Full bodied with fine grained tannins and a long, expansive finish. Hold.
WSET Notes:
Deep ruby.
Pronounced on the nose with blackcurrant, cassis, graphite, mint, floral notes, cedar, vanilla, clove, cocoa. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Fully body, high alcohol, high acidity, high tannins, long finish.
The intense floral display in the nose is on fire and is made even better with the addition of sweet currants, smoke, blackberries, and earth. As good as the perfume is, it is on the palate, with its layers of silky, energetic, rich, elegant red and black fruits that is the show stopper here. Still young, but in a nice place to pop a cork if you prefer wines more on the fruit, than on the secondary side. Drink from 2023-2055.
Suave, mostly open-knit, and polished, excessively so. Moderate extraction, but leaning quite modern in oak treatment and ripeness, the latter resulting in noticeable alcohol. I wanted to like it more than I actually did.
No change on the second day. A lot of flavor and substance, yet generally a let down. Just too polished.
Likely a fine gateway for New World palates to explore the wonders of Bordeaux. Too much sense of place and depth to score less than 94 points. I would not, however, hold bottles beyond 2035.

A little bit of heaven on the nose, silky smooth, elegant, almost dainty. AS beautiful wine from Margaux.
