Happy International Women’s Day to all the ladies. Swirl, Sniff, Sip ‘n Snack Wednesday at home…civilised. Splash (Coravin Still) of 2013 Alexandre de Almeida, Buçaco Branco Reservado, Portugal (blend of Encruzado from Dão and Maria Gomes and Bical from Bairrada, 13% alcohol, 12 months in French oak). Bright and vibrant gold on the eye…evening gown worthy of a slow, sexy red carpet sashay. Exciting aroma of ripe tropical fruit punch…a touch of toasted oak hugs the citrus in an alluring manner. Full-figured, creamy, slightly nutty and vanillaly…gelato spread ever so evenly across the soft, yummy doughnut…the censorship PoPo have imposed cuffs on my chubby thumbs so I will leave it to your imagination about the gelato and doughnut 😇.

A fascinating wine offering a couple of dichotomies. It is light-bodied yet rich and bright but oaky. There is ample to ponder but I’d like to see reduced emphasis of wood or more integration of it, over time.
