Had this a few days ago, and remember this as good but not great. There was a nice, waxy, 'cheniny' texture, and the off dry, medium bodied palate showed good balance; it was less sweet than I was expecting, which isn't a bad thing. Straw and stonefruit were in the nose and palate (B+).

Nice apples, good acidity. Medium rather than sweet. Not bad, like it was three years ago. Only got a taste as too to friends, the first time allowed during lockdown.

2015 Château de la Roulerie Coteaux du Layon was sweet and balanced. The Loire Chenin Blanc was medium gold in colour, with nose of Granny Smith apples, wet stones, lemon zest, honeysuckle and beeswax. On the palate, it was sweet and full-bodied, and the sweetness was well-balanced by high acidity. Flavours of honey, apples, white pepper spicesand a touch of ginger were present in the medium finish. While it might not be the most intense and complex sweet Chenin Blanc from Loire, the sweetness-acidity balance and the regional typicity were on point.
