Like many 2015s, this very nicely crafted Kabinett needs more time to permit the residual sugar to come more into balance and more comolexity to emerge. I am sorry I drank my second bottle early as it will flower even more in 2-3 years. The Schloss Lieser wines have generally been under rated for a long time: they are soft, carefully vinified wines from sites that produce nice fruit/acid balance and, in the auslese category, age very well. This kabinett displays a yellow/ mild orange hue, lots of orange flower/ mild tropical fruit notes, mossy smoke and a good orange- peel acid backing.

Cellared since release, perfect cork and fill. Pale yellow. Citrus and peach, medium body, ripe fruit, crisp acidity and minerality balance a moderate sweetness level, medium finish, excellent.

Straw yellow with gold highlights. Nose offers shy notes of citrus and green apple along with the beginning of more dimensions of complexity touching the spectrum of honey, hazelnut, and caramel. Palate is medium plus sweetness but with terrific racy acidity and again that note of hazelnut and whipped cream rounding out the citrus fruit. Long, salt inflected finish. Very fine, especially on day 2 as acidity seemed to have more ‘pop’ and verve. Long life ahead

Slight, deft, a proper Kabinett. Delightful purity. Has a long future.
