Very much on the sweet side: that is my initial response. "I've had much sweeter" quoth the damsel offering the pour. And she is correct; but there is sweetness and sweetness with Riesling: there is the sweetness combined with a biting acidity that is harmonious and comes from the late ripening of the grapes and is pure unctuous joy; then there is this sweetness, which is slightly insipid and lacks that balancing acidity. This wine would be much better off with less sugar and more backbone.

On the sweet side, but with the right amount of acidity to keep it in balance. Mixing aromas of grape and grapefruit seem to contribute to that balance, but with some minerality too. Terrific complement to Asian food. Overall a great wine and an excellent QPR.

Mild fruit. Bottle did not last long. Served well accompanying steamed artichoke and boiled shrimp.
