Whoever says Napa doesn’t age well is dead wrong. This beauty is still going strong at 25 years old showing no signs of weakness. Famed “Rutherford dust” very much present. Silky smooth and extremely long finish. Drink now or save for another 5 years (or more).
Q1 - 2019 Tasting - 1995 Vintage Napa Valley (NYC): 9th/16 wines tasted double blind. This was decanted for about 90 minutes prior to the tasting and then double decanted back to bottle. Color is ruby red. Nose is very fragrant and full of berries and earth. On the palate, red and blue fruits, but with a nice spine of acidity that hold together, some dusty earth here as well. One of my favorites - 1 penny voted.

Q1 2019 Tasting - 1995 Napa (The Apt): Wine #9: I was intrigued to try this wine. We are big fans of Lokoya but often because of the focus on mountain fruit. Had not tried this bottling in the past. Did not pick up on the Rutherford dust here, but I did get a lot of blueberry pie. That just very sweet and hints of baking spices and all of that. Tasty. (4 pennies)

Cellar Devils with Jeff Leve; 10/23/2018-10/24/2018 (Berens am Kai 1 star Restaurant): Blind, Many of us including me guessed left bank Bordeaux. Elegant, reluctant with a great acidity structure and firm tannins. Didn't reach his top. Nice black currant and violet notes. 93+
