lightly colored, some cloudiness, the nose shows strong scents of strawberry, quite sappy, with medium body and juicy acidity, palate of ripe red berries, blueberries, mineral and cola, lightly weighted with delicious fruit, drinking well now

Lunch with Davyd at Asia Grand. Pop and poured. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, brilliant ruby colour. Thin legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of soaring garden flowers, sweet earth, ripe red cherries, toasty oak, cola with air. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium acidity (dips as it warms up), medium alcohol (12.8%), soft medium- tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet toast oak, sweet earth, cherry cola, ripe red cherries, red plums, cinnamon spices. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Restrained style of New World Pinot. Really quite impressive on the nose. A little pity on the acidity. Otherwise very enjoyable overall. Drink and enjoy, no need for further age. From the Dierberg Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley. Grapes bought from Dierberg Vineyards.

One of the higher tone and complex pinots from the region I can remember. Very herbal and packed with acid and minerality. Hints of tart cherry fruit which is a quality I find across the board for this lighter and cooler style Pinot in the region, this wine shows some added dimension of tart golden berry, sour cherry and black cherry. On par with other tops Domaine's like La Côte which retails for much more. Enjoy today or certainly age.

In a great spot, showing first signs of maturity. Red fruit and mushrooms on the nose, touch of cola and spice meld into a mellow red fruited finish.
