After following this 2004 Glaetzer Wallace over the past 7 years, this was my final bottle. At 10 years of age. Very dark red with some brownish hues. On the nose, it was a heavy, rich with tar, dark fruit and black pepper. I let it decant for about 30 min. On the palette, the tannins and acidity are no longer present. Very ripe, candied fruit. Tasty yes, but somewhat monotoned after drinking a few sips as there really isn't any additional or interesting flavours.
Not overripe and in your face, but found it simplistic. The freshness is no longer present. Still a tasty treat and still my favorite vintage for this wallace. I was afraid it may have peaked, and declined. I believe it has started. The structure is not there like the Bishop. If you still have a bottle of this, open it up and finish it this year. It will not get better. My overall assessment, best years drinking were in the 5-6 years. Regardless, I've enjoyed tracking these bottles over the years and say goodbye to this 2004 vintage.

deep garnet with some edivence of aging by change from purple to red/brick. Medium legs. Great nose of red and black fruit, spice, earth and cedar. Medium long finish. Great wine especially for the price

Great wine for the price and wish I had more but the case is now gone. Dark Garent with medium legs. Red/black fruit, especially balck and raspberry. Ceder and damp earth. Tobacco? Not as much spice as some Aussie shiraz but a delightful drink. Terrific value in my book

Very impressive for the price. It's aged about as much as you would want and has picked up some great depth because of it. Pretty smooth for a Shiraz blend, I'll do a proper review at a later date as I have a few bottles left.
