surprised to its fineness on composed strength. this is a honourable red blend made from a major new world producer, nodding to old world methodology, like a bridge across the two worlds. almost all (6/7) voted #1 to this.

Blind Tasting - Bordeaux red varieties, single or blend, mid price range MZ$60-100 (Forrest Hill, Auckland): super integrated. cassis, moderate cedar, vanilla and spices. fine structure and all balanced. compare to the last time I tasted 6 years ago, it lost a little density and showing tertiary flavours, m+ finish with some cigar box and leather. it's at the end of the peak window if not over.
voted #3 by me and group.

Blind Tasting - Bordeaux red variaties blend, no younger than 2010 (St Johns, Auckland): medium+ garnet, even, clear. cassis, cedar, subtle cream and herbals. super balance, smooth and restrained power released gradually. fine grained tannins, m+ scale structure, very fine texture, well mellowed.
