  • This time I drank it over three days to see if I was missing something. I don't believe that I am. It's just not a terribly articulate or expressive wine. It is well made and classically styled, but in this case that's about admiring something intellectually. The wine doesn't offer a lot of pleasure, if you're looking to drink a beautiful bottle of Burgundy.

  • Very classic and well-proportioned. This is a more subtle and structured version of this wine but enjoyable. Has some old-vine crunchiness.

  • This is not a good vintage for this wine. it smells, tastes, and feels under-ripe. There is still some pleasure to be found - the underwood aromas, the flashes of berry fruit, the lightness of body and acidity on the palate. But this is the least successful version I’ve ever had of this normally lovely wine.

  • Tasted over 2 days. Day 1: very dark followed by an opulent nose of black berries, licorice and soy- The mouth is opulent and sweet, no hard edges, tannins integrated, good depth a hint of minerality flashing the finish. Decent length. Day 2: same, a little more elegance.

La Dominode, part of a group of Savigny 1er cru terroirs on the southern part of the village, with nearby Narbantons and les Peuillets. More clay in La Dominode, which tends to give the wine lots of generosity and fullness in the mouth. The Cote Rotie of Savigny.

  • One try from this lesser known vineyard,
    black fruit, spice, earth,
needs some aeration at first, but with this air this is an elegant deep black fruit driven Bourgogne, quite some finesse, delicate, all components light but tight on the palate, to chew on, long finish, can be enjoyed with some aeration from now on, but will easily hold another decade, a recommended bottling! **(*+?), around 89,90(+?)
"Found" last third of this bottle on the window-sill in my smallest darkest room,
wuhu..., what a delicious elegance flow here today, rich , ripe dark fruit, herbal, long convincing finish, great showing today, maybe with upside? 91?
