Del Dotto Barrels & Beasts 2016 (Del Dotto Winery): Served fairly chilled (close to refrigerator temperature), which muted the flavors initially. Warmed up a little in the glass to reveal pleasant notes of lemon citrus, pear, wet stone, and faint hints of vanilla.
Medium-bodied. Not overly ripe, buttery, or fruity (thankfully); had a little vanilla on the back end that added some interest. If warmer, I'm sure the vanilla would have been a little more pronounced.
Paired well with house made Ritz crackers, roe, and caviar; also went nicely with a whipped deviled egg amuse-bouche.
