purple red in the glass. Nose: herbs and licorice, light pepper, plum sauce. Black cherry/black raspberry compote, baking spice, elegant and long finish with still very present tannin. Really classic stuff drinking well now.

Third bottle in three years, and the last of the lot. Keeps getting better. I bought heavily in CdP in 99, 01, and 04, and for the most part, regret having done so. This wine, however, reaffirms my initial love of the region. It has remained very clean, solid structured, yet fine and silky. There is a touch of brett (which I always dig) and gobs of ripe black cherry, cola, pepper, and Indian spices. The black pepper is very prominent on the medium finish. This is drinking perfectly at the moment and I don't think it will get better. Drink up and enjoy!

Yum, just plain yum. Consistent with the btl I had 1.5 years ago, only better still. No hint of greenery. In fact, this seemed downright ripe tonight, but well balanced with EtOH and supple tannins. Would drink up, but could last another few years.
