80% Cab/14% Merlot...with a dollop of CF, PV, and Malbec. Black cherry, blackberry, and dark plums up front. Still in great shape and youthful at 21 years of age with notes of graphite, black licorice, earth, cedar, and dark chocolate. Very well balanced with nice acidity and tannins, and long finish. So good right now and in a perfect spot.

My last from it's release in 2004, it is amazing how time flies as I remember bringing the case home. The wine tasted amazing when I opened the bottle and then it deconstructed itself for about an hour and actually had me concerned that it was going in the wrong direction. However, our patience was rewarded as it started to really open up after 1.5 hours of decanting and continued to reveal itself as it was consumed over the next hour. It's nice to know that these wines have the longevity and while not as fruit forward as younger Pahlmeyer's it was very enjoyable nonetheless.

Believe it or not, this wine is still very young. It has a long life left in it.

Wow, there can be no doubt about my AFWE leanings. This was a saline, toasty, oaky, thick, mess. Modern as hell... It was hard to drink.
