My American Labeling says “dry” instead of “trocken” Served blind, light golden straw. Bright peachy lime fruit. Nearly bone dry, but the bright fruit gives this (almost) a feel of sweetness I’m not sure if this will last well
I agree with the 2018-2021 window

Youthful pale green color. Open, fresh and aromatic nose with heady aromas of freshly peeled Granny Smith apple, perfumed floral tones, some grassy greenness and a hint of aromatic Asian spices. Very lovely and characterful nose. The wine is broad, somewhat oily and obviously very ripe on the palate with flavors of ripe and sweet red apples, greengage, some perfumed floral tones, a little bit of steely minerality and a hint of zesty citrus fruits on the palate. Despite its somewhat big size and sense of weight, the wine still comes across as nicely balanced and structured, thanks to its moderately high acidity. The finish is refreshing, lively and mineral with very ripe and lengthy flavors of tart green apples, sweet greengage, some apple blossom, a hint of honey and a touch of ripe peachy fruit.
An obviously very ripe and fruity Riesling with more weight and fruit than is typical for the normally so steely Rheingau style - obviously the 2015 was a lot warmer here than in many other parts of Germany. However, the wine doesn't feel too ripe, but instead just somewhat bigger and less aggressive than is typical for a Rheingau Riesling this young. Most likely the wine will continue to evolve for some years and keep for a lot more, but this is a surprisingly approachable effort right now. This wine received 2 points in our Kabinett Cup of 32 Rieslings from 2015, making it the 10th best wine.

Künstler really delivered the goods on the Hochheimer Kirchenstuck, as an exotic and almost-savory bouquet of spicy florals was given added depth with hints of caraway and fresh apple. On the palate, it was remarkably soft-textured on entry but then cleansing through vibrant acidity. Inner floral tones prevailed, as its fruit seemed to take a back seat. However, I’m not worried here, as there’s so much going on, which is still not at the surface.

Powerful wine, great QPR, could have kept it much longer.
