Light gold color. Aromas of vanilla and pear. Subtle friut flavors of pears and apricots with a buttery finish that's balanced with some acidity. Served with pasta and sliced olives, drizzled with olive oil. Suprisingly interesting paired with the olives. Brought out a great herbal component to the wine that wasn't obvious.

Michael & David Phillips Tasting (Gibby's Wine Den, Geneva IL): The 2004 represents quite a change for this bottling. The label has changed, the wine is bottled in a traditional Chardonnay bottle, and the wine inside represents a stylistic change from previous vintages. The 2004 vintage was crafted to show a little more oak and butter. Half of the wine was aged in French oak, half in stainless tanks. Half of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, while the other half did not.
The resulting wine was more pale in color than the 2003. There is a bit more minerality to this vintage, with pear and apple notes also present. On the palate, the oak and buttery characteristics are certainly there, carried by pear falvors. Definately a more 'traditional' Calli Chardonnay. This was preferred by most of the group to the '03.
