At first sniff I’m getting black plum sauce, Asian five spice, cassis, caramel & black licorice. Spicy, full bodied, creamy mouthfeel with chewy tannins and good lift. It finishes on a nice irony mineral note. Not much floral or herbal notes from the cab Franc I was expecting, this is actually pretty ripe and rich. Subtle green pepper with some time. A good wine, but not really what I was expecting. Can hold. 59% Cab Sauv, 28% Cab Franc, 12% Merlot & 1% Petit Verdot aged a year in 15% new French oak.

Deep purple/red color. Aromas of black fruits, licorice, tobacco leaf and wood spices. Full-bodied but balanced fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length and well-integrated tannins. Though young, silky and tongue-coating on the palate. A delicious wine with the cheese course at Fond Restaurant.

Drinking very nicely now. Red berry fruits and some spicy notes. Fine grained tannins provide grip. Very smooth and long finish.
