Classic Cote Rotie. Still plenty of life and fruit in this, but some lovely tertiary components coming through. Decanted 3 hours before serving as an accompaniment to some grilled steaks - match made in heaven!

Decanted for over two hours. The wine had an amazing bouquet: bacon fat, dirt, leather, cedar, dark berry compote. The palate, however, was a bit disjointed. First, the wine is very light for a Cote-Rotie with no detectable tannins and restrained ABV (by Guigal's standards)...results of a cooler vintage. The attack matched the bouquet, but the mid-palate had a vegetal cut to it that clipped the finish. We paired a glass with rack of lamb and the food helped smooth it out. I poured the remaining wine back into the bottle and sampled it over the next couple of days.
Day 2 - it was smoother, but that vegetal cut was still present.
Day 3 - Showing even better. The green note had subsided. Alas, that was the end of the bottle!
Based on this, I'd say the wine could use some more aging to let the flavors all meld cohesively. FWIW, the wine was barely showing signs of oxidation on Day 3. Well made, as usual.

Deep and dark on the nose with blackberry and lots of toasty oak. Full bodied and rich on the palate with high but smooth tannins and a very long finish. Certainly not on the elegant end of the spectrum for Côte-Rôtie so one for those that prefer a more opulent style. Drinking well now but likely better to wait for the oak to settle in more.
WSET Notes:
Deep garnet.
Pronounced on the nose with blackberry, cedar. vanilla, tobacco, leather, earth, meat, toast and smoke. Developing.
Pronounced and dry on the palate. Medium (+) acidity, full body, high alcohol, high tannins, long finish.
Can drink now but has potential for ageing.

Decanted about an hour. On 👃 , leather, cedar, blueberries, nectarines. Dry, grippy tannins, medium/full milky body, very acidic, raspberries & blueberries. Still very young and should improve with age in bottle.

BTG coravin pour as part of a tasting flight. This one was poured by accident instead of the Condrieu. Red and black fruit, slightly underripe on the nose with a slight underripeness on the palate. Not getting much savory here as some other tasters have described. I think I would like this better with a few more years on it but glad I had a chance to taste (comped!)
