A good friend brought this over to share after helping setting up his Plunge All-In. My OCD wanted to make sure it was level so it was a bit more work than he anticipated but that's another detail not related to wine!
Our Friday had already started out with wonderful wines and this was a great addition to the line up.
PNP directly into a decanter for service which in my estimation was a smart move as this wine really opened up nicely. ARGRATH's recent notes from 10/13/23 really sum this up nicely. At least better than I ever could so please reference for specific TNs. I also agree with the scoring of this wine.
Early drinking window but ready to go with a decant.
No decant. Great from first pour, a bit of fungi which blew off after 30-60. Dark lush fruits perfect balance good energy lovely place now peaked at 2-3 hour mark no decline after that. Great!

(BYO Blind tasting) Full and smoky nose. Salami sausage and oak. Black fruit, vanilla, mint and a load of coffee. Very deep. And a lovely refreshing floweriness in the midst. Full palate. Ripe tannins. Black and red fruit. Coffee and oak. Powerful. Very good length and concentration. Flowery hints of violets in finish. Very Guigal, very Côte-Rôtie. Surprising concentration considering the vintage.

Wonderful nose - made me think of coffee, berries, pepper, roast and a slight vegetal note. But a letdown on the tongue. Would wait some more years if I could.

Really spicy on the nose. From Corvin, needs to open up a bit. It's darn amazing off the pull. Other tasters note how so darn good it is.
