  • Drinking rather well at the moment. It's right between youthful power and beginning secondary/tertiary notes. Drink now or over the next 15 years.

Nose: Light primary aromas of green fruit (apple, pear) and citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon and lemon peel). Light tertiary aromas of petrol.

Palate: Off-dry, high acidity, low alcohol and light body. Light primary flavors of green fruit (apple, pear) and citrus fruit (grapefruit, lemon and lemon peel). Light tertiary flavors of petrol. Medium(-) finish.

Conclusions: Good wine. Can drink now but has potential for aging.

  • The nose is restrained, but when it comes through there’s some lime and an aromatic sensation of minerality. (I’m not really sure how to describe the smell of rocks.) On the palate, citrus and cantaloupe, lots of slatiness, and something a bit floral. Viscous and solid on entry, but airy and weightless on the finish. Significant sugar, but fairly well contained by the acidity. Good intensity and a degree of elegance. I think a little cellar time will bring better integration, leading to a very solid bottle of wine.

  • Cellar temp. PNP. Cork perfect. Color light straw. Nose dominated by lychee and elderflower. Swishing shows dose acidity to balance the relatively rich fruit and keep it bright. Sipping shows more pineapple in the mix and allows the relatively long finish to shine. Long time fan of RvK and never had GL - I like this one.
