Disappointing! Wine was properly stored from purchase upon release until consumed. The cork was fine. Initially, the wine was weak, a tiny hint of fruit. We were afraid to swirl it. Over time a minimal bouquet emerged, indicating it might have been more robust some years ago. Absolutely no tannin left. When we purchased this, we had been pleased with the beauty of twenty year old Fieldstone wines in a library tasting at the winery. Clearly they no longer live that long. Dark Chocolate emerges after an hour. Not unpleasant. But not great either. Should have been opened 10 years ago. Can be served with white meats - pork, chicken, rabbit...

Took a little while to open up, but good nose of baking spice and a little heat. Dark purple color with plum and chocolate on the palate. Nice round tannins and medium finish. A little oxidation but overall drinking very well for a 1997.
