  • Bright, translucent golden amber. I've enjoyed several of these old ex-domaine Huet bottles and not one has shown even a lick of oxidation. The nose is defined by the smells of an old cellar that moderate but never fully dissipate, alongside more appealing beeswax and mushroom aromas. The palate still carries a bit of residual sugar and a sense of effervescence to frame attractive flavors of honey, orange peel, and dried rose. A gorgeous wine at one hundred! Wow!

  • Tasted at the Special Huet Degustation-Menu at Traube-Tonbach, "Schwarzwaldstube"
Amber colored with with greenish-golden reflexes.
One the nose: some honey, smoke, bee's wax candles. Still ever so slightly sparkling.
Time has eaten up the residual sugar..The wine tasted dry as did most of the older vintages tasted in the course of the evening.
While over the hill, it still had some attraction and went even surprisingly well with the pumpkin variation served alongside.
    A rare experience...
