Evocative (provocative?) label, unfiltered, 7% ABV, Cascade and Citra hops. Rich and malty depth, firm hoppy bitters, bright and lifted, floral aromatics, dry but fresh and juicy, a powerful beer but with lots of energy and verve, citrus fruit, intense flavours, lovely length. Good stuff.

Cloudy orange-brown color. Although the are some citrus fruit aromas typical of IPA, there are also a lot of more earthy, characterful nuances of red-toned cherry fruit, leather and dirt. On the palate the beer is quite dry and moderately full-bodied with pronounced bitterness, supported with earthy and almost farmhouse-ish notes reminiscent of Orval and flavors of citrus fruits, exotic spice and a hint of sourness. The finish is dry, herbal, grassy and bitter, supported by rustic farmhouse notes, some spicy earthiness, a little dandelion and a hint of pithy grapefruit.
A magical fusion of old-school (not super-aromatic) IPA and earthy Orval-like beer, resulting in a tremendous IPA of great, rustic elegance and superb drinkability. This is my first experience with 't IJ and I'm already hooked. Probably my favorite go-to IPA from now on. Tremendous value at 3,20€ for a 33 cl bottle.

Blond beer with 6.5% ABV. Full bodied beer with a lot of hops and bitterness. Also fruity flavors. Good freshness. A mouth full with a good length.
