  • This bottle drank very differently than my previous notes indicate. It seems very high in alcohol on both the nose and palate. Somewhat unbalanced and more modern and highly extracted than previous bottles seemed. Perhaps age is not this wine's friend? Or simply bottle variation? Anyway I did not appreciate this nearly as much as the last two bottles.

  • Nicely evolved since my last bottle in 2011...light to medium garnet color with a light crisp feel to it. Flavors and aromas dance around in the glass and your mouth. Drunk with a pan seared halibut with a peppercorn, rosemary cream sauce and it complemented it perfectly, accentuating the spices. Light black cherry, licorice and earthy pine notes on the nose and palate. Well balanced and on point. Very Burgundian in character.

  • Needs time, though a friend thought it already over the hill. It was not too integrated when first opened but I think that went away with the air. Nice cherry and chocolate with a little herbaceous note. Nice viscosity and mouthfeel, medium bodied, just the right combination in my view. I think this will improve over time...we shall see.

  • Had on Mother's Day. Have liked this vintage from the start. Still has plum, cherry and hint of toasted almond on the nose. Think the smokiness has melloed now to a nice earthy flavor on the palate with some spice a residual heat. This has never disappointed over the years. Now it is quite complex, more mellow and balanced. Definitely still drinkable.

  • A bright clean Pinot, with youthful warmness and nevertheless good structure. The nose is a little smoky. At the palate not heavy but expressive. Some late plum with cherry, notes from coffee and finally a conscious spicy closing with a little sweetness. I bought it for 45 $ - this price absolut ok! Thanks to the smal shop in San Luis Obispo Central Coast Wines from Vaughan and Sasha Taus at 712 Higuera Street.
