The wine is good but it didn't stand up well to the three burgundy and one California chardonnays we tasted it against. Lacks the minerality of the Chablis and could be best compared to the Macon-Villages, although the fruit on this one was overripe almost to the point of rotten. Weird for a FLX wine. We're starting to taste FLX wines side by side with other regions and, while the Rieslings hold up well, a lot of the others do not. I don't think we'll leave the region behind like we did Pennsylvania wines but I do think we'll be buying less of them and more of the rest of the world in the future.

Second and final bottle. Consistent with notes from December. This is a tough wine to stay away from. Great stuff, and it makes us excited to see where this young estate and winemaking couple is headed. "Excellent," 91/100.

PnP at cellar temperature. Paired first with washed rind cheese, then with a dinner of rice and barley, broccoli, and chicken cooked with apples and onions. A delicate yet reasonably intense aroma of orchard fruits, with aromas of baked apple and lemon curd consistent with extended bâtonnage. Well put-together on the palate with a flavorful entry of apples and lemon zest transitioning to a light weight midpalate with maintained flavor intensity and tangy, but rounded, acid. Finishes nicely with medium-length citrus flavors.
Surprisingly light on its feet but with good flavor intensity, the judicious lees exposure will put this in the "sweet spot" for lovers of white Burgundy as well as more steely unoaked Chardonnays. This showed really well...even better than in the tasting room. The RP90 score is well-deserved. "Excellent," 91/100.
