dark and clear. nose is fruity, spicy, woody with vanilla. initially the tannic grip is overwhelming. with a couple of hours of decanting though, this is very good, texture is soft, lots of fruit, some nice savoury elements, black olive, and an attractive saline note.

30 minute decant. Some nice vanillin oak on the nose with cherries, a bit of soy, and mild leather. Medium sweet cherry fruit with modest tannins and some wood on the nice finish. Good showing, and near peak.

It could be me, but this is sherry trying to be rose. Oxidation neuters the beautiful, ripe cherry fruit. The wine has syrupy texture, but not off putting. I wish that their was more acidity to give some pep to this wine.

internationally styled red, with good features but ultimately a bit generic. This is Tempranillo? Tastes like a GSM blend from the languedoc / cooler Australia / California. Equal part red and black berry fruit, somewhat hidden by the sturdy frame of acid and minerals, dark-roast coffee and cocoa. Has a good amount of acid, although I’m not sure if it’s spoofed, as it doesn’t quite seem to fit.
