Coravin fun - Vietti (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Medium minus intensity aromas of plums tends to umeboshi, dry earth, a touch of meaty underpin, some herbaceous almost green stalk notes. Hmm. That green stalk note translate to the palate joining the plummy fruit, tannins are drying and a little cumbersome, touch of beef stock and yeast extract, lacks balance, showing a touch disjointed. Hmm.

(Mostly) Barolo night (Frank's place in Matraville): From Coravin. Fruit tea, pretty, cherry, a little balsamic and wet clay; a sense of wetness, lightly spiced. Medium plus intensity acidity, fruit tea, tar, wetly juicy, tannins are talc textured and sit beneath the fruit tea and muted cherry flavours, a little alcohol warmth on the finish. Very nice.

From Coravin. Aromas of earth, red cherry, spice, slight candy floss (surely not carbonic maceration/whole berry?) Medium plus intensity acidity, fruit tea, tightly textured tannins, quite simple at the moment. Nice.

HOLD. Nice enough food wine if serving today, but this struggles to hit the high notes. Give it plenty of rest. For its full potential, this is easily recommended, and likely to improve considerably from here.

Sour cherry nose and palate that improves with time in the glass. Acidity and tannins not quite there yet. Wait two more years before next bottle.
