Citrus, green apple, almond, bread crust, brioche and a hint of smoke, with creamy mousse, tart acidity and good length. Slightly metallic aftertaste. A little austere in its high acidity and dryness. Less mineral than bottles I had earlier. A medium- to light-bodied, aperitif-style champagne.

Citrus, green apple, nuts, almond, biscuit and brioche as well as chalky and smoky minerality, with fine, creamy mousse, fresh, lively acidity and good length. Medium- to light-bodied, nutty, lively and fresh. Good autolysis character. An aperitif-style champagne. Not as good as a bottle I had about four years ago.

My friends Loek and Saskia organized a fantastic dinner and wine tasting for my birthday. Starting with this Champagne; a bit square, a bit short, but honest and pure.

Diam cork. The wine was light gold in colour and very foamy, with intense and very fine perlage. It had a very nice nose of floral notes, apple, lemon, nuts and brioche. On the palate the medium-bodied champagne showed apple, lemon, nuts, biscuit, brioche, firestone, smoke and mineral notes, with creamy mousse, high acidity and very good length. A textbook champagne that drank better on its own than paired with our oily fish dish. A very good aperitif.
