Not in a great place. Lighter and more delicate than expected, but I wouldn't call it elegant either--the acids are a bit harsh. Give this more time and hope for the best.

decanted for about an hour prior to serving. Nice fruit, with animal and leather notes. Nice acidity here but obviously still tannins here. Not bad but a little young.

Full of red fruited flavours seasoned with touches of spice and earth. This is surprisingly accessible for an '05; the flavours are very primary and sappy right now with a nice tannin/acid spine beneath and a polished, finessed texture. Very nice.

France Trip Part 3 - Burgundy; 6/20/2006-6/23/2006: Barrel sample tasted at the domaine w/ Laurent Ponsot. Just starting malo. A touch closed on the nose. Red fruits and some spice. Clean, good acidity, rich mouthfeel. Promising.

Drinking well from the start, though three hours in it really fell apart.
