This is a wine of outstanding potential. It opens immediately from the bottle with kaleidoscopic notes of strawberry, rasperberry, blueberry, jasmine and leather. On the palate, it is lush, striking acidity yet balanced. Incredible depth.
It is certainly already approachable with enormous amount of potential ahead of it. I feel both bad and good about opening one this early.
I think it will peak in 5-10 years and stay there for another 20.

End of Year Get Together (Chez Alex): nose - cranberry mouth - powerful. tightly wrapped red licorice, long and muscular. overall assessed to be shut down. Shows promise. Hold

Dark garnet, subdued red and dark druit nose. Massive concentration of fruits on palate, mixed with pinpoint sharp tannin that is precise to balance the wine. Hint of spice and oak from mid palate, long dark fruits to the finish. Very young still but provide a glimpse of what lies ahead.

(Clair Bruno Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze) Medium, medium-plus colour. A wide, coffee inflected and soft nose - eventually some lovely red fruit on the nose. The acidity is brighter and makes for a nice burst of interest in the mid-palate and into the finish. There is plenty of tannin but the fruit is a good match.
(Clair Bruno Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze) The nose starts wide, red and just a little diffuse - improving with time and even taking on a floral aspect. The nose is tight compared to the Clos St.Jacques - consequently rather understated. Width, complexity, dimension and concentration in the mouth. Excellent - the flavour really lingers

Fantastic nose. Black berries, licorice, herbs and animal notes. Very well-balanced. Medium tannins and acidity. Long delicious finish. Great wine.
