  • A really nice 10 clone wine. This is the last 2013 I have, and if I had the ability to acquire more of this, I absolutely would. This is a deep, dark blackberry cassis dominated wine. Vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate, graphite. Finished with a lot of black pepper and toasted oak tannin. Still actually was a bit astringent when it was opened. Needed actually about an hour and a half before it started firing on all cylinders. But when it did, oh man it was firing on all cylinders! If you still have this wine, in my opinion there is really no urgency to drink now. This can hold another 10-15 years but I think optimal drinking is within the next five.

  • All I can say is wow!!!! Drank with a T-bone steak. Smooth and silky. Light tannins. Worth every penny.

  • More 95 today than 94. Overall, still developing but this one expressing dark tonight. Nose of dark chocolate and black licorice. Entry of fig, black currant, cacao. Moderate amounts of pepper and quite a bit of oak barrel. Full bodied but also rather astringent. Goes with food or without just the same. Very pleased with this one on a whole and feels it hasotr potential than the 14.

  • Wow. You need a chainsaw to cut through this wine. Poured from Coravin. 10 feet away, my wife was cooking dinner with the vent hood on and remarked that she could smell the wine. Intoxicating blackberry cassis, youthful and dense. You can smell the toasted oak. The entry of the wine is dense, ripe chalky blackberry, spice hits right from the start. Dense middle core with pepper and toasted oak starting in the middle. The finish is rather explosive and has everything from meaty character to blackberries to cinnamon to truffle and toasty tannin, finishes with a dry tannin that makes you want to take another sip to hydrate the tongue. This wine is on a 20 year path to expression, so I will try to pace myself with the others I have!
