Dark fruit, herbs and bitter almonds with dusty minerality, ink and a little (too much?) oakiness, including a slightly bitter woody finish. 14% abv. One taster guessed Sangiovese which is cool, channeling a bit of Tuscany terroir perhaps. High qualitative wine but not something I will rush to rebuy.

Nicely balanced wine, on the riper side of the scale for Italy Syrah. On the nose - green herbs, cedar and pine, ripe dark berries, black pepper. Well balanced on the palate, tannins require food with it but should nicely mellow - would try again in 2-3 years

Dark berried and Syrah-typical, although with a twist. Like you feel at home but yet in an unfamiliar place, which is reasonable when you drink pure Syrah with no or little oak from a terroir geologically suited to Syrah but from a climate - Cortona - that is different from the northern Rhone. Blackberries and black currant, black olives, herbs, a little bit of chocolate and a lot of salty licorice. Will buy from this producer again.
