This opened leaner and quite wound up. After a 1.5 hours it finally showed more texture in the mid palate and started to add more angles to the fruit. It did gain a bit more of the pithy style later on, but it took a good hour. More enjoyable than the first bottle I tried in 2021 but I don't remember the base year for the last bottle.

Forgot to write notes on the night of. Can definitely taste the oak in the sense of large body and a soft but present feel. My main takeaway was that I know I like more primary fruit in champagne, so it is not my style, but on the other hand, I can't fault it as it was very pleasant to drink.
Drink within 10 years of D/G date is my best guess.

DG 09/2018 A principally mineral and fruity attack on the nose with a gentle oaky touch. Wet stones, chalk, a slight gunpower-like note; lots of ripe exotic fruits such as pineapple, lemon, lime and some kaffir lime, elderflower and lilies, some spices, principally black pepper, syrup. Very vinous texture, present acidity and lively bubbles that show the wine is in a youthful stage, I'm sure it will improve with another couple of years of bottle ageing, now it's just correct. 88pt

2016 base non-vintage for my second bottle.

Quite toasty at first, then moved on to green fruits. More like a gin and tonic kind of herbal characters. Very good overall.
