Served double blind to a group of pretty sophisticated palates. This is by its nature a unique and sometimes polarizing wine, but this bottle was even more so. Cloudy and leesy, as is the intent, for me this bottle had a distinct note of what I refer to as pine resin that I pick up in certain less ripe vintages of northern Rhône (‘08 Chave recently showed similarly). A natty showing, with guesses of Allemand Sans Soufre and natural burgundy from a ripe year. A fun wine , but one that is not for every palate and is bound to be controversial.
