Wine club wine Q4 16. PnP at cellar temp and paired with creamy brie. Very nice wine, though not something we would usually buy. Notes from the tasting room are pretty spot on. The acid is very bright, poking holes in the blanket of wood that covers up the fruit. Needs some time to integrate, but this is a quality effort. Longer time in a more neutral oak may have been beneficial. "Very good," 89/100.

(100% French oak, barrel fermented) Good color. The nose shows aromas of oak, citrus, butter, minerals and a hint of white flowers. This is medium bodied on the palate with good concentration but a slight lack of class. A touch oaky. The medium plus length finish features a mineral element.

Honeymoon in the Finger Lakes; 10/17/2016-10/20/2016 (FLX, New York, USA): Tasted at the winery. 6 mo residence in French oak. Not our style, but technically well-executed. A round, apple butter-centric profile is counteracted by retained, bright acid. "Very good," 88/100.
