  • Fruity nose that offers crunchiness as well as a fine concentration with notes of cherries, black currants and touches of flowers. The palate is fruity, juicy and well-balanced. Fine tannins, good acidity and a slender, crunchy body. An elegant wine on the fruit, punching above its pedigree as Santenay Villages. Drinking very well now, with potential until 2030.

  • Possibly my wine experience of the year. A Majestic purchase from two years ago which was drunk because the window was supposed to be closing (plenty of life left on this experience). Farmyard nose, and on the palate initially mild beefstock, licorice, sweet rhubarb, porcini, finally landing on sweet cherry. Quite superb and similar in character to the wonderful (but more expensive) Maresh Vineyard.
