Return to Aus; 6/23/2019-7/5/2019 (Adelaide, South Australia wine regions, Tassie, Yarra, etc.): After we tried this on Monday at the winery we were excited to see what it would be like with some age. From a magnum. We decanted but drank it very quickly so didn't get the full value of that. This was again more intense and brooding and while well balanced, it really needs a lot more time. If we had another bottle I'd try again in 10 years.

Game of Rhones (Carriageworks, Redfern): meaty and chunky, smoky black fruits, quite muted...meaty and biscuity on the palate, not much fruit, then huge, drying, brutal tannins. Nah.

2 weeks in Australia with a stopover in Singapore; 6/14/2019-7/1/2019 (Singapore, Sydney, Adelaide, McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills): From magnum. This was decanted than poured. Still very youthful and could have used a longer decant or cellar time. Dark fruited and savory with tannins still active, nice earthiness and a long finish. Not as much attention paid as I would have liked given this was consumed at the end of a long day of tasting - but impression is quite positive.
