Really good bottle of wine but must be decanted due to sediment. Opened beautifully after 1.5 hour decant. Cocoa, dark fruit and medium muted tannins gave way to an elegant yet powerful wine. 40 second plus finish with a little more time to go if cellaring a magnum (otherwise drinking in coming year is a must).

Part of a high end wine dinner for my wine group. The three reds were in order, 2014 Tua Rita Redigaffi Toscana IGT, 2014 Realm Cellars The Falstaff, and the 2008 Larkmead Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Solari. All the wines were decanted for over an hour. While very good, no one had this as their favorite. There was more oak/vanilla noticeable on the Falstaff than the other wines. Great nose, an almost but not quite long finish.

PnP ready to go though improved a bit as we drank. Earth, floral fruit all in harmony, touch of rose oil and chocolate covered cherry, black raspberry, macerated blackberry, fresh red raspberry.

Opened two hours prior to dinner, recorked, took to a byob restaurant and drank over two hours pouring through a vintorio. Dark red fruit and flowers on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, red plums, crushed flowers and hints of spice that came out on the long finish. A really excellent bottle of wine.

Fabulous! Smooth, flavorful, with berries and spice, very smooth and long finish.
