Color, Dark and a bit cloudy, early signs of bricking on the rim.
On the nose - Port, Oloroso, Cassis, Lavender. Enticing on the one hand, but showing serious signs of aging. In the mouth - Luscious fruit, earth, berries, plum. At this point, the fruit feels a tad overripe and the fading tannins don't support the structure well enough, resulting in an imbalanced wine. Overall a tasty wines that can still be enjoyed with a good cut of red meat, but definitely over the hill at this point. If you have'm, drink up now.

First bottle of a recent release by the chateau. The bottles are in pristine condition. First glass with Coravin a few days before Christmas. Colour is deep garnet. On the nose one gets immediately the aroma of a mature Saint Emilion. Herbaceous, mushroom and some fading forgotten berries. Firm tannins and lovely acidity. On the palate the fruit is fading although there is some left and I get notes of mushroom, forrest. Fantastic wine. Can’t wait to taste it properly decanted.
