  • Similar thoughts to Cam. Seems to have not moved much in many years. Drank this one up as the cork has only just started to leak. Tawny in colour, the wine is in balance and quite light bodied for the style. So much so that we drank it like a table wine with an antipasto platter. Held on over a couple of hours, but it oxidises quickly past this point. Threw a crust, but only small scale compared to true vintage port styles. I hope I look this good at 50 something years. Used the Penfolds double worm method to pull the cork out in one very wine soaked piece. Drank with a dear 50 something friend for belated birthday. Enjoyable for more than nostalgia.

  • Sydney Offline: Birthyear Wines: Has a caramel, toffee and nutty nose. Palate is fine - pretty good balance and seems reasonably fresh but there isn't any real depth or complexity.
