  • Liquid gold. Aromas of peach, apricot, ripe pear, curry paste, bees wax and honeysuckle. A little dried fruit and forest floor in the background. Remarkably fresh on the palate, despite very limited acidity. But mainly just powerful and muscular with tonnes of weight and a long, long finish. This does not feel old at all.

  • Color/App: pours deep yellow with tremendous viscosity (14.9% Etoh). Big, big bouquet of lychee, quince, golden raisins, some ginger and a touch of petrol. Viscous and honeyed, slightly oily palate showing tropical fruits, lime, lanolin and that hint of petrol again. Finish is persistent and quite long. Comes across as big and burly, especially for a white; think of a cross between a white St. Joseph and a Pinot Gris from Zind Humbrecht. I do like this but you have to be in the mood for it.

  • More generous this time up to 91. Some slight acidity. Heaviness less felt this time, although this is an oily light honey hued wine that should go with stinky cheese or even chocolate.

  • Nice, but didn't blow me away. Somewhat heavy-handed, but good expression of North Rhone white. Sort of St Joseph Blanc with a tad too much alcohol.

  • This needs about 15 minutes to settle down after opening. Fully mature but with the ability to age for another 3-5 years.. Light to medium gold. This comes on with flavors of pomelos, tropical fruits, almonds, minerals in a fleshy but interesting take on this varietal. This is quite good but doesn’t feel to me like to has the structure and acidity to age like some of the great rhone whites.
