A lovely CCGS and drinking wonderfully at 14 years. Present tannins but well integrated. Sour dried cherry, Tuscan earth, leather. Wine #6 in the 2014 WS top 100 list. One of my fav CC producers.

For number crunchers out there in CT land, this rating is for potential, but actually is easy 94. Great solid cork and pop gave me confidence wine was in prime aged condition. Closed upon opening. Soft. But 2 hours latter...fruit appeared and was wonderful. A fully great and mature high level Chianti. Sediment in last glass. This wine didn't last enough to fully evaluate but was constantly improving right up to the last drop. The fruit was really showing strongly and some cherry flavor as well as something slightly savory, not meat like, more like leather or perhaps tobacco. Only slightly. But this wine was taking steps forward and the best showing was in a re-corked bottle served next day at room temperature, and even then each subsequent glass was better than the previous. Impressive. An easy re-buy in the future. Went like a champ with just plain old spaghetti and meatballs, a top notch food wine. Acid present but softer now and as such not burning. I think a really good Chianti can age longer than most give them credit for, unless you already know this for fact and experience.

Drank from a magnum. Smooth tanins, dark fruit. Overall a good Chianti but I expecting longer finish and dept.

Same score as 2 yrs ago. Nice red fruit, crisp acidity, good match with red sauce. Still holding strong.
