  • Complex nose of spicy, mineral, ripe, sweet cherry fruits. Deep, translucent ruby colour! Meaty, minty, sweet cherry fruit palate, a lengthy finish! Can age a bit longer for more refinement and complexity, a brief decanting is highly recommended! Now to 2033 in my book!

  • Amazing nose that's difficult to describe in full. Ethereal roasting meat, ripe black currants, blackberry concentrate, creme de cassis, new vanilla-tinged French oak and mint. Medium-full bodied and SO round and luxurious in the mouth. This is truly excellent and perfectly mature. Same flavors as the aromas adding cedar and chocolate to this deliciousness! This is hard to resist, but I've got to save some for the pot roast! Drink now-2028+ 93

  • Splash decant after we savored and polished off the 90 Pichon Baron
We found the wine ready to go and delicious. If not quite at the level of the 90 PB. Dark cherry flavors and here too minimal tannin
$45 well spent in the day

  • Double-decanted. Much more lucky with this bottle than the last one a couple of years ago. This aged fantastically with a super-present red berry fruit. Just hints of leather and forest floor, still pretty youthful as a matter of fact. Round and balanced palate. Limited complexity but great drinking spot.

  • Kleur: Diep donkerrood. Algemeen / potentieel: Mooie gerijpte Pomerol in de laatste fase. Nu drinken! 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 16 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 91/100

Color: Deep dark red Aroma / bouquet: Soft, almost fragile bouquet but - unlike August 2020 - not 'over the top'. A leftover of dried fruit, but it is mainly the earthy aromas that dominate at this stage. After some relief, the wine acquires some smoky accents. Taste / Finish: Soft acidity, buttery tannins. The taste returns the earthy and soft smoky notes. Soft, pleasant wine in the last stage. Pleasant and above-average long finish. General / potential: Beautifully ripened Pomerol in the final phase. Drink now! 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Taste / Finish: 16 + Overall / potential: 9 = 91/100
