Tasted at Olivier Leflaive tasting lunch 2014 Olivier Leflaive Batard Montrachet Grand Cru was pale lemon in colour, with exceedingly complex nose or brine and brioche, followed by green apples and lime in full flower blossoms. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, medium in acidity, structured and intense. The salty mineral characters and green apple flavours lingered in a long finish. The balance of tree fruits, yeasts, and salty stony minerals was elegant yet powerful. (95)

Flinty, oak-y, citrusy nose; beeswax, lemon rind, cloves, vanilla. Rich, but with a penetrating acidity that begs for some food. Reductive, rich and crisp, excellent wine, made for the long haul.

Les Degustateurs last tasting for a dear friend (Smyth and the Loyalist Chicago, IL): What an incredible nose. Palate depth, long finish, chewy. BUY
