Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Dinner at Le Soufflot, Meursault: We could not find much age on the wine list for reds and went for this ... As a 2014, drinking well on the night, however it really should be cellared for another 7+ years, minimum, I’d guess. An attractive bouquet of fresh red cherries, raspberries and morello cherries under spirit with earth, bauxite and game meats. Also, a faint hint of florals. In the mouth, tight and coiled. Firm, austere tannins. More black fruited than red. Earthy and mineral. Quite precise but good fruit concentration. Pure, clean and vertical. Softened and more drinkable with the lamb and cheese courses. All of the ingredients to be a top Corton.
